August 2025 - A New Graduate Program

I start my graduate program next week and I’m excited to be officially back in academia. But I have to admit, I have a healthy amount of worry as well. I dealt with my fair share of brain fog during my undergrad, but it’s gotten so much worse since I had COVID last year. I’d never had to sit and think hard to come up with a perfectly common word before. Now it’s a regular phenomenon.

There’s an incredible level of frustration that comes with knowing the information is in there, but having to try so hard to access it. It’s not only frustrating, it can be a bit scary. Starting this website was also scary. I’m going to start a website about thinking when my own brain barely works?

But that’s also why this work is so important to me. Learning about how my brain works used to be fascinating. Now it’s necessary.

Capstone Project

I'm developing a 6-week course for first-year students on creative thinking. The first semester is all theory. While we're doing work choosing the theoretical foundations we want to work with, they're evaluating our choices and matching up students with advisors. So I'll be able to share more specifics about my project when I'm assigned an advisor.

Current Personal (n=1) Experiment

Improving input quality (8 weeks). Limiting social media to 20min/day. Replacing with peer-reviewed articles, curated sites, and thinking communities.
